Anti-Oppressive Practice provides an in-depth exploration of identity, equity, and justice in social work practice. Grounded in anti-oppressive frameworks, students will examine how social identities intersect with systems of power, privilege, and oppression. Through experiential assignments, personal reflection, group dialogue, and applied casework, students will learn to engage respectfully across differences, analyze structural injustice, and design responsive actions that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Students will develop the critical skills necessary to advocate for social justice and to foster ethical, culturally responsive, and equity-centered practices in diverse social work settings.
