The Word Processing Certificate prepares individuals for positions utilizing Microsoft Word. Features studied include formatting text, paragraphs, and pages, document collaboration, track changes, forms, charts, tables, graphic elements, mail merge, and so much more. Students will complete the Microsoft Office Specialist Word certification exam, upon completion of the advanced level course, demonstrating proficiency in their Microsoft Word skills. Credits for this certificate are stackable towards the Microsoft Skills certificate, Virtual Office Assistant Certificate, Administrative Technologies Certificate, and Administrative Technologies AAS.

Word Processing Certificate Requirements
Curriculum: OCC 2003
Program Core: 6 Credit Hours
Other Certificate Graduation Requirements:
- 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA at MCC upon completion of program
- For certificates of less than 12 credit hours, all required credits must be completed through MCC coursework. For all other certificates, one-half of the minimum credit hours required must be completed through MCC coursework.
- Completion of graduation application
- Completion of end-of-program assessment as directed by this department
