The Criminal Justice Certificate serves as a foundation for associated professions that require fundamental knowledge of the criminal justice field. Students will acquire broad, foundational knowledge of the field across multiple areas of employment, including corrections, emergency dispatching, criminal law, and community policing, which will enable them to intelligently analyze the process of American Criminal Justice as it unfolds daily across the country. This certificate complements the AAS in Criminal Justice and will reinforce the student’s knowledge of the complexities of the field.

Criminal Justice Certificate Requirements
Curriculum: OCC 1911
Program Core: 30 Credit Hours
Total Certificate Credits: 30
Other Certificate Graduation Requirements:
- 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA at MCC upon completion of program
- For certificates of less than 12 credit hours, all required credits must be completed through MCC coursework. For all other certificates, one-half of the minimum credit hours required must be completed through MCC coursework.
- Completion of graduation application
