Program Overview

The Entrepreneurial Agriculture Degree prepares students for entry level careers on farms of various sizes, types and production models. While the degree is specific to farms producing products for local and regional markets, skills learned will equip students for job opportunities across the agriculture spectrum. The degree also provides a foundation for students who may go on to own their own farming operations, or assume ownership of a farm from a family member.

Entrepreneurial Agriculture is part of the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources career cluster. Graduates may find employment as farm laborers, farm managers, greenhouse managers, school garden managers, and entry-level employees in a wide range of horticultural and agricultural businesses. Students may also go on to own their own agricultural enterprises.

The primary purpose of an Associate in Applied Science degree is to prepare students for employment. The AAS degree is not designed specifically for transfer; however, there are opportunities to apply some coursework to a bachelor’s degree program. For more information, see an academic advisor and the program director.
