Specialty Crop Fundamentals Certificate

The Specialty Crop Fundamentals Certificate provides graduates with a solid foundation in the principles and practices of specialty crop production. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experiences, students learn about sustainable growing methods, crop selection, soil health, and harvesting techniques. Students will work with a wide range of specialty crops, from vegetables and fruits to ornamentals.

Curriculum: OCC 1881

Total Certificate Credits: 17


Other Certificate Graduation Requirements:


  • 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA at MCC upon completion of program
  • For certificates of less than 12 credit hours, all required credits must be completed through MCC coursework. For all other certificates, one-half of the minimum credit hours required must be completed through MCC coursework.
  • Completion of graduation application
  • Completion of end-of-program assessment as directed by this department
