The Bachelor of Social Work is offered on the Aurora campus, through AU Online, and at the University Center at McHenry County College. Please note, you may also need to complete other requirements.
Students must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and submit the required program application materials, along with a background check, to be admissible to Aurora University’s George Williams School of Social Work. Students are expected to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 in all social work courses and a 2.5 or higher GPA overall. Full requirements can be found in the BSW Handbook.
You will be eligible to apply for the Illinois Licensed Social Work credential after completing two years of supervised post-BSW work experience. BSW graduates are also eligible to apply for advanced standing in AU’s Master of Social Work program, allowing for completion of an advanced degree in as little as one additional year.
