RDG 089 - Basic Reading Skills

3 Credits Variable
Lecture: 3

Basic Reading Skills helps students to improve their reading through the use of prefixes, suffixes, root words, phonics, word meanings, and context clues. Students practice finding main ideas and details in phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and short essays. This course may be repeated three times for a maximum of 12 credit hours. 

Note: Credit cannot be applied to a degree or certificate. This course requires basic reading and basic writing.

Prerequisite: Appropriate score on the reading placement test
