SON 125 - Ultrasound Physics and Instrumentation II

3 Credits

Ultrasound Physics and Instrumentation II provides an in-depth exploration of advanced Doppler techniques, hemodynamics, contrast-enhanced imaging, and emerging ultrasound technologies. Students will also examine the biological effects of ultrasound, apply the ALARA principle, and learn essential quality control practices, including equipment maintenance and lab accreditation. The course prepares students to optimize image production while ensuring patient safety in clinical sonography settings.

Prerequisite: SON 120  with a grade of C or higher.
