GER 255 - German for Conversation II

3 Credits
Lecture: 3

German for Conversation II builds on German for Conversation I and enhances the student’s ability to communicate in German at an intermediate level with a primary emphasis on speaking. Students will discuss a variety of cultural topics and current events. Listening comprehension skills will also be improved using current German media. Reading and writing assignments will be used as a springboard for conversation.

Note: This is a supplemental course to GER 251  and GER 252 . Therefore, there will be no systematic study of grammar. This course is not open to students whose first language is German. It does not fulfill a university foreign language requirement, but generally transfers as elective credit.

Articulation: 1.1

Prerequisite: GER 251  with a grade of C or higher, or three years of high school German with a grade of C or higher in both fall and spring semesters of the third year, or appropriate score on the College German Placement Test (placement into GER 252 )
