HVA 119 - Hydronic Heating Systems 4 Credits Lecture: 2 Lab: 4
Hydronic Heating Systems introduces students to the basic principles, practices, operations, and service of residential and commercial hydronic heating equipment. Students will develop a basic understanding of load calculations, ventilation requirements, water circulation pumps, the properties of water, and outside air resets associated with residential and commercial hydronic heating equipment. This course emphasizes piping techniques, controls, safeties, and relays, used with residential and commercial hydronic heating equipment. Training will also include electrical troubleshooting, the servicing and cleaning of hydronic heating systems, and the use of multi-meters (voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters). This course provides fundamentals for HVAC technicians to build upon as they pursue their HVAC educational and career goals. (1.2-Articulated)
