HVA 120 - Building Insulation

Building Insulation introduces students to the basic principles, practices, and operations of building insulation and safety procedures. Students will also study heat flow, building science, building envelope, construction practices, material costs, moisture concerns, mold concerns, and proper insulation techniques. Students will also develop an understanding of the types of insulation used for energy saving and sound proofing. This course reinforces the use and operation of energy calculations, ventilation requirements, blower-doors, duct blasters, energy audit software, air leakage detection, and diagnostic test equipment. This course provides fundamentals for HVAC technicians to build upon as they pursue their HVAC educational and career goals. (1.2-Articulated)
