HVA 104 - Residential Air Conditioning Systems 4 Credits Lecture: 2 Lab: 4
Residential Air Conditioning Systems introduces students to a basic understanding of window air conditioning units, split-system air conditioning units, air source heat pumps, and geothermal heat pumps. Training will include electrical troubleshooting, servicing and cleaning, and humidity control of residential air conditioning systems. Brazing and soldering, use of HVAC manifold gauge sets refrigerant recovery, vacuum pumps, diagnostic test equipment, voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters are also covered. This course provides fundamentals for HVAC technicians to build upon as they pursue their HVAC educational and career goals. (1.2-Articulated)
