HVA 103 - Residential Heating Systems 4 Credits Lecture: 2 Lab: 4
Residential Heating Systems introduces students to the basic principles, practices, operations, service, and installation of residential heating equipment. The function and operational characteristics of residential heating equipment, its wiring, and safety procedures are studied. Electrical controls such as thermostats, relays, contactors, protective devices, and the types of fuels used in residential heating are also covered. This course also introduces a basic understanding of load calculations, ventilation requirements, and piping techniques. This course reinforces the use and operation of diagnostic test equipment, wiring diagrams and schematics. (1.2-Articulated)
