MAT 251 - Discrete Mathematics

Discrete Mathematics is an introduction to the mathematical analysis of finite collections and to the mathematical foundations of sequential machines, computer system design, data structures and algorithms.  Topics include but are not limited to at least 6 of the following 9 topics: sets, counting, recursion, graph theory, trees, nets, Boolean algebra, automata, and formal grammars and languages. 

Note: This course requires intermediate reading, intermediate writing and intermediate math.

Prerequisite: MAT 096   AND MAT 161   OR MAT 165   with a grade of C or higher, or appropriate score on the mathematics placement test, or placement by ACT or SAT scores.
